挫折承受力(Frustration Tolerance)也被翻译为“挫折耐受力”、“挫折容忍力”、“耐挫力”或“抗挫折能力”等。罗森威尔是最初提出这个概念的,他认为:“挫折承受力是个体遭受挫折后能够抵抗挫折,同时又不会出现不良反应和行为失常的能力,即个体适应挫折、抗御和对付挫折的能力”。冯江平认为:“挫折承受力可分为挫折耐受力和挫折排解力,是个体遭受挫折后,能够忍受和排解挫折的程度”。李海洲等人认为:“挫折承受力是个体在遇到挫折的时候,是否能经得起打击与压力,且能较好的摆脱和排解挫折而使自己心理与行为免于失常的一种耐受能力,即个体适应挫折、抵抗和应付挫折的一种能力”。

挫折承受力量表用于测量个体在遭遇困难或失败时,对自身情绪和信念的容忍程度。该量表由美国心理学家Harrington于2005年编制,包含28个题目,分为不适感耐受性维度(DiscomfortIntolerance)、权利维度(Entitlement)、情绪耐受性维度(Emotional Intolerance)、成就维度(Achievement)。其中,不适感耐受性维度指个体认为生活应该是容易的、没有困难的;权力维度指个体的欲望要得到立即的满足,他人不应该对其构成阻碍;情绪耐受性维度反映了个体对情绪困扰的容忍程度;成就维度是与任务有关的挫折, 个体很难从不能完成的任务中走出来。共28个题目。其内部一致性信度在0.84-0.88之间。量表采用5点计分,分数越高,挫折承受力越差。王娟娟研究中,挫折承受力量表中文修订版的Cronbach α系数为0.861,校标效度为0.91。刘永顺将使用该量表的权力维度的题目来测量个体对权力挫折的承受力,该维度的Cronbach α系数为0.829。
